MacKay Medical College Welcomes Korea's Global Vision Christian School to Promote International Campus Exchange

To promote international educational exchange and broaden students’ global perspectives, MacKay Medical College hosted a visit from Korea’s Global Vision Christian School (GVCS) faculty and students on Wednesday afternoon, January 28, 2026. The event took place at the Remote and Demonstration Teaching Center on the 4th floor of the Second Teaching and Research Building. Through campus introductions and facility tours, the visiting group gained a deeper understanding of the college’s educational philosophy and distinctive teaching features.

The event began with a warm welcome by Pastor Chang Yi-Lun, who introduced cultural differences such as “Bubble Tea vs. Iced Americano” and “Korean Fried Chicken vs. Taiwanese Popcorn Chicken” in an engaging and lively way. Secretary-General Shen Yung-Shun then provided an overview of the campus, sharing the history of Dr. George Leslie MacKay’s mission and medical service in Taiwan, along with the college’s emphasis on medical education, professional training, and humanistic care. Attendees from the college included Secretary-General Shen Yung-Shun, Pastor Chang Yi-Lun of the Chaplain’s Office, and several medical students, all of whom participated in the reception and exchange. Additionally, alumni representatives Guan-Chou Chen and Yu-Min Yang from Tamkang High School joined the event, strengthening interschool connections.

The GVCS delegation was led by Vice Principal Jung So-Me, accompanied by Director Pastor Ko Young-Hoon, Pastor Ha Hyung-Dun, Teacher Bae Seung-Eun, Pastor Jung Ung-Kyu who served as translator, and 25 students. Through onsite visits and discussions, the visitors expressed strong interest in Taiwan’s medical education environment.

Following the introductions, the group toured several key teaching facilities, including the Optometry Clinical Laboratory, the Gross Anatomy Laboratory, the Speech and Hearing Teaching and Practice Center, and the student dormitories. Through firsthand exploration and conversations between students and faculty from both sides, the visitors gained insight into the college’s comprehensive teaching equipment, clinical practice spaces, and campus living environment, leaving a strong impression of the balanced integration of theory and practice.

The event concluded at 4:00 PM, after which the delegation proceeded to Tamsui, marking a warm end to the exchange visit. This successful visit not only showcased the college’s strengths in professional medical education and humanistic values but also strengthened ties with international schools, laying a solid foundation for future cross-border educational cooperation.
