Jinshan High, Mackay Medical University & Vietnam’s Kinh Bac International School

To further deepen educational collaboration and broaden international perspectives, MacKay Medical University welcomed faculty members and students from Kinh Bac International School (KBIS), Vietnam, for an exchange visit on April 16, 2026. This exchange was made possible through the facilitation of Jinshan Senior High School, one of the University’s long-term partner schools. The visit not only demonstrated the international impact that can stem from interschool collaboration, but also helped build a more promising exchange network among local high schools, universities, and overseas institutions.

MacKay Medical University and Jinshan Senior High School have maintained a close and longstanding partnership, continuously building a solid foundation in local engagement, educational exchange, and talent cultivation. Through the introduction and coordination of Jinshan Senior High School, Kinh Bac International School and MacKay Medical University were able to engage in substantive interaction, share their respective institutional characteristics, medical and healthcare education resources, and educational philosophies for talent development, while also deepening mutual understanding of educational systems, students’ learning pathways, and future directions for academic advancement.

During the exchange, Kinh Bac International School introduced the distinctive features of its language education and curriculum planning. According to the school, students begin receiving English education as early as kindergarten. From the age of three, professional teachers provide daily English instruction, enabling students to steadily build their language proficiency throughout each stage of learning. In addition to Vietnam’s formal curriculum, students are also required to take intensive foreign language courses such as English and Chinese, demonstrating the outcomes of a multilingual learning environment and their potential for international development.

President Hung-Yi Yeh of MacKay Medical University also introduced the University’s medical and healthcare education system, its distinctive approach to talent cultivation, and its related support mechanisms. He further shared the academic advancement resources provided for students with strong potential, reflecting the University’s core commitment to educational opportunity and the cultivation of professional talent. Both sides also exchanged views on topics including medicine, nursing, and students’ future career development, further highlighting the diverse possibilities and development opportunities that international educational collaboration can bring to talent cultivation.

This exchange was not only an interschool visit, but also an extension of existing local educational cooperation through the international connections fostered by Jinshan Senior High School, opening up broader horizons for international engagement. Through the interaction among the three parties, the event not only helped expand students’ global outlook and cross-cultural understanding, but also concretely demonstrated the results of cross-institutional resource sharing and collaborative talent development, laying a strong foundation for more diverse educational exchanges in the future.
